Conductors, Insulators and Safety
Some materials let electricity race through them; others stop it dead. Learn to tell conductors from insulators — and why that is the key to using electricity safely.

Kavi's Spoon and Ruler
Kavi holds a shiny metal spoon 🥄 and a plastic ruler 📏 and touches each one across the gap in a little circuit with a bulb. The spoon makes the bulb glow — but the ruler does nothing! "The metal is a conductor — electricity flows right through it. The plastic is an insulator — it blocks the electricity." Then Kavi looks serious. "That is why wires are wrapped in plastic, and why we must never poke metal into a socket — because electricity would flow through us too! Let's learn to spot conductors and insulators, and stay safe. ⚡🛡️"
