describe series circuits and explain what changes a bulb's brightness.

📖
Kavi's Glow-Up
Kavi clips a bulb 💡 to a cell 🔋 in one neat loop — it glows softly. Then she snaps in a second cell 🔋🔋 and… whoa, the bulb shines much brighter! "In a series circuit everything is joined one after another in a single loop — just one path for the electricity. Add more cells and the bulb glows brighter; add more bulbs and they share the push and go dimmer. Let's find out what makes a bulb bright!"

What your child will learn
1What makes a circuit a series circuitIn a series circuit the parts are joined one after another in ONE loop. Tap each part to see its job.
2More cells → a bigger pushThe same bulb, in the same single loop. Only the number of cells changes. Tap each one — what changes the brightness?
3Brighter or dimmer? Each card changes one thing in a series circuit. Does the bulb get brighter or dimmer? Tap the right box!
4Guess first, then check!Good scientists predict, then test. Pick your guess, then tap to check! Tap Next test for more.

A peek inside
Kavi's bulb glows softly with one cell. She adds a second cell in series and the bulb glows much brighter 🔆. Why?
Two cells in series give a bigger push (more voltage) than one. A bigger push drives a bigger current through the single loop, and a bigger current makes the bulb glow brighter.
