Kavi Looks Back Again

Kavi flips open a well-worn notebook 📒. "What a term! We followed a drop round the water cycle 💧, used the particle idea 🧊 to explain solids, liquids and gases, hunted microorganisms 🦠, traced food along the digestive journey 🍽️, discovered how light 🔦 reflects so we can see colour, and ran fair tests like real scientists 🔬. Let's connect the big ideas — then pass the checkpoint together!"

What your child will learn

1This term's big ideasWe studied a lot this term! Tap each big idea to remember what it means.
2Solid, liquid or gas?Remember the particle idea: solids keep their shape, liquids flow and take the shape of the container, gases spread to fill all the space. Sort each one!
3Use what you learnedEach question connects a different big idea from this term. Predict, then tap to check! Tap Next test for more.
4Think like a scientistA fair test follows the same loop every time. Follow the steps — tap each one.

A peek inside

Kavi fills a glass with ice cubes 🧊. Soon there are drops of water on the OUTSIDE of the glass, where no water was poured. Where did they come from?
The cold glass chills the warm air touching it. Water vapour in that air cools down and condenses into tiny liquid drops on the outside of the glass — the same condensation step that makes clouds in the water cycle.

Try this at home: In the water cycle, what is it called when vapour cools and turns back into tiny liquid droplets?
