Kavi Looks Back

Kavi flips through a thick science notebook 📒. "Look how far we've come this term! We learned how flowers make new plants 🌸, how animals grow through life cycles 🦋, how everything is built from tiny particles 🧊 and from tiny cells 🫀, how animals are adapted to survive 🐪, how the digestive system uses our food, how energy flows along a food chain 🌱, and how Earth spins in space 🌍. Let's connect the big ideas — then pass the checkpoint together!"

What your child will learn

1This term's big ideasWe built a lot of science this term! Tap each big idea to remember what it means.
2Producer, consumer or decomposer?Remember: producers make their own food, consumers eat other living things, and decomposers break down what has died. Sort each one!
3Use what you learnedEach question connects a different big idea from this term. Predict, then tap to check! Tap Next test for more.
4A plant's life goes roundA flowering plant's life is a loop — it makes seeds that grow into new plants that flower again. Follow the loop — tap each step.

A peek inside

In a cup of fizzy water, tiny bubbles rise to the top and pop into the air 🥤. Using the particle idea, what is inside the bubbles?
A gas is trapped in the water. In a gas the particles are far apart and move freely, so the bubbles rise and the gas spreads out into the air above.

Try this at home: What can a producer do that a consumer cannot?
