📖
Kavi's Ice Lab
Kavi drops an ice cube 🧊 into a warm hand and watches it turn into a little puddle of water 💧. "When I warm ice, it melts! And when I put water in the freezer and cool it, it freezes back into ice." Kavi grabs a thermometer 🌡️ and a notebook 📔. "A real scientist doesn't just watch — we measure with a tool and record what we find in a chart. Let's investigate melting and freezing together!"

What your child will learn
1Warming melts, cooling freezesIce and water are the same stuff — just warmer or colder! Tap each card to see.
2The melt and freeze cycleWarm it, cool it, warm it again! Ice and water swap back and forth. Tap each step.
3We measured each spotWe put one ice cube in three spots and used a thermometer 🌡️ to measure how warm each spot was. We drew a bar for each. The taller the bar, the warmer the spot.

A peek inside
I leave an ice cube 🧊 on a warm, sunny windowsill. After a while, what will I find?
Warming ice makes it melt. The cold, hard ice turns into runny water.
Try this at home: What happens when you WARM an ice cube?
