Kavi's Three Forms

Kavi holds an ice cube 🧊 in one wing. "This is hard and keeps its shape — it's a solid!" Soon it melts into a puddle 💧. "Now it flows and spreads out flat — it's a liquid!" Kavi warms it up and it turns to steam 💨 that floats away. "And now it fills the whole room — it's a gas! Come find out how matter changes forms!"

A peek inside

Kavi puts a wooden block on the table and it keeps the same shape. Which form of matter is it?
A solid keeps its own shape and does not change — just like the wooden block.

Try this at home: What does a solid do with its shape?
