Detective Kavi on the Case

Kavi pulls on a detective hat 🕵️ and reads a case card. "Clue 1: it grows. Clue 2: it needs sunlight. Clue 3: it cannot move by itself." Kavi taps a wing. "Clue 1 alone? Lots of things grow! But each clue crosses out more suspects — and the answer has to agree with all three. Let's crack the case!"

A peek inside

Crack the case: Clue 1: it grows. Clue 2: it needs sunlight. Clue 3: it cannot move by itself. What is it?
Lots of things grow, so clue 1 alone isn't enough. Needing sunlight to make food crosses out animals. Cannot move by itself crosses out anything that walks, swims, or flies. All three agree on one thing.

Try this at home: Clue 1: it grows. Clue 2: it needs sunlight. Clue 3: it cannot move by itself. What is it?
