Kavi Chases a Shadow

Early in the morning Kavi stands in the garden 🌅 — and look, a long shadow stretches far across the grass! At midday ☀️ the Sun is high overhead and the shadow shrinks to a tiny stub. "The Sun seems to climb across the sky," says Kavi, "so my shadow is long when the Sun is low, and short when the Sun is high. Let's follow it!"

A peek inside

Is a tree's shadow longer in the early morning 🌅 or at midday ☀️?
In the morning the Sun is low, so the shadow stretches long. At midday the Sun is high, so the shadow is short.

Try this at home: Is a tree's shadow longer in the early morning, or at midday?
