Kavi's Big-Number Map 🗺️
Kavi counts 35,028 leaves in the Great Oak 🍂! "A big number isn't scary," he hoots. "Each digit has its own place — ten-thousands, thousands, hundreds, tens, ones. I can read it, round it to a friendly signpost, and spot its factors and multiples ⚡."

What your child will learn
1Every digit has a placeA digit's value depends on its place. Build 325: the 3 is worth 3 hundreds = 300, the 2 is 2 tens = 20, the 5 is 5 ones = 5. Tap + and − to change each place and watch the number change.
2Round to the nearest ten-thousandThe big signposts up to 100,000 are the ten-thousands: 0, 10,000, 20,000, 30,000…. Every number sits between two signposts — rounding means hop to the closest one. Tap Hop +10000 to travel signpost to signpost.
3Multiples: count up in stepsA multiple of a number is any number you land on when you count up by it. The multiples of 6 are 6, 12, 18, 24, 30… — the times-table of 6. The lit numbers show the multiples of 6.
4Factors: numbers that divide evenlyA factor of a number divides it exactly, with nothing left over. Factors come in pairs that multiply to make the number. For 24: 1×24, 2×12, 3×8, 4×6. The lit numbers are the multiples of 4 — and because 4 × 6 = 24, both 4 and 6 are factors of 24.

A peek inside
Write the number: 3 ten-thousands, 5 thousands, 0 hundreds, 2 tens, 8 ones.
30,000 + 5,000 + 0 + 20 + 8
Try this at home: Write the number: 4 ten-thousands, 2 thousands, 6 hundreds, 0 tens, 9 ones = __
