Kavi's Pet Mystery 🐾
Three friends 🧒 each brought one pet — a dog, a cat, and a fish. Kavi has only two clues 🧩: "Mia brought the dog" and "Leo did not bring the cat." Kavi never saw Leo's pet, yet hoots, "Leo has the fish!" How? "The dog is taken by Mia, and Leo is not the cat — so only the fish is left for Leo!"

What your child will learn
1One clue, two factsEach clue does two jobs at once. The clue "Mia has the dog" tells you the dog is Mia's — and it also tells you the cat is not Mia's. Tap the two pets to see what one clue settles.
2Fill the deduction gridThree friends, three pets, each friend has exactly one. Clues: Mia has the dog · Leo does not have the cat. Sort each pet to its owner. Start with the clue you are sure of, then cross out.
3The cross-out methodWhen only one choice is left in a row or a column, it must be the answer — even with no clue that says it directly. Step 1 lock the sure clue, step 2 cross out, step 3 read the leftover.

A peek inside
Mia has the dog. Leo does not have the cat. Each of Mia, Leo, Ana has one pet: dog, cat, or fish. Who has the fish?
Mia = dog; Leo ≠ cat so Leo = fish; Ana = cat
Try this at home: Two cups: tea and milk, for Ann and Bo. Ann's cup is NOT tea. Who has the tea?
