Kavi the Treasure Robot 🤖

Kavi follows a treasure map. "The chest is behind the rock, two steps forward, then a quarter turn clockwise and I'll be facing it!" Kavi hoots, "To find anything I need three things — where it is, which way to move, and how far to turn. Let's learn them all!"

What your child will learn

1Where and which wayPosition words say where something is; direction words say which way to move. Tap each word to hear it. An arrow shows the direction.
2A turn is a part of a whole circleA full turn goes all the way around a circle, split into 4 equal parts. A quarter turn is 1 of those 4 parts. A half turn is 2 of 4 — halfway round. Tap the parts to shade how far you turn.
3Clockwise is the way clock hands moveClockwise means turning the same way a clock's hands go. From 12 round to 3 is a quarter turn. From 12 round to 6 is a half turn. All the way back to 12 is a full turn.
4Quarter turn or half turn?A turn is measured by how far round you go. Face up, then a quarter turn clockwise points you right. A half turn points you the opposite way — down. Tap each card.
