Kavi and the Mystery Shapes πΊ
Kavi finds a little puzzle card: πΊ + πΊ = 10. "Two triangles, and they are the same shape β so they stand for the same number," hoots Kavi. "Two equal parts that make 10 β¦ that must be 5 and 5! So πΊ = 5." Kavi grins. "When the parts are equal, I can always uncover the hidden number!"

What your child will learn
1Two equal basketsKavi shares 10 berries into two equal baskets π§Ίπ§Ί. Each basket is a πΊ. Tap Add 1 to fill the first basket β the empty cells show the second basket.
2πΊ + πΊ = 10A number bond shows two parts under one whole. Here both parts are the same shape πΊ β same shape means same number, so the parts must be equal. It opens on the equal split. Use β less / more βΆ to peek, then come back to the match.
3Equal hopsEqual parts can be more than two. Here each hop is an equal part of 2. Tap Hop +2 and count how many equal hops it takes to reach 12.

A peek inside
The card says πΊ + πΊ = 10. Both parts are the same shape, so they are equal. What number does πΊ stand for?
πΊ + πΊ = 10 β 5 + 5 = 10
Try this at home: Equal parts! πΊ + πΊ = 6. What is πΊ? πΊ = __
