2Equal hops, equal groupsAn equal group has the same number in every group. Each hop here is a group of 3, so every hop is the same size. Start at 0 and hop +3 again and again: 3, 6, 9, 12 — that is 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 12.
3Share it fairlyA ten-frame has 2 rows of 5. Tap Add 5 once: one row is full and one row is empty — the two rows are the same size, 5 + 5 = 10.
4Groups of 3, numbers onlyNo pictures now! Adding groups of 3 lights up these numbers: 3, 6, 9, 12, 15. Each lit-up number is one more group added. To share 15 into groups of 3, count the lit-up numbers: 5 groups.
