Technology, Society & Human Dignity
Weighing what technology does to people — and choosing to be a steward who lifts people up, never pushes them down

The Same Tool, Two Paths
Kavi read two stories on the same morning. In one, a video call let a girl see her grandfather across the ocean, and he wept with joy. In the other, a fake video made a kind shopkeeper look like a thief — and the whole town believed it. "The very same kind of tool," Kavi hooted softly, "lifted one person up and pushed another down." Grandma nodded. "Technology is never only good or only bad — it carries whatever we put into it. A wise person weighs it: who does this help? who could it harm? and does it treat every person as someone who matters?" Kavi thought about dignity — the worth every person has just by being a person — and decided that before using any tool, he would ask whether it lifts people up or pushes them down. "That," said Grandma, "is being a steward."
