Kavi Plays Detective

Kavi the owl put on a tiny detective hat. "Two pictures," Kavi hooted. "One is a real photo someone took with a camera. One was made by a computer. Which is which?" Kavi looked very closely. In the first picture a smiling boy waved — but his hand had six fingers! In the second, the letters on a sign were all melted and jumbled. "Aha — clues!" said Kavi. "Real hands have five fingers, and real signs have clear letters. A good detective doesn't just trust a picture — you look for clues, then you check where it came from."

A peek inside

A picture shows a shop sign, but the letters are all melted and jumbled so you cannot read them. Is this most likely a real photo or a made-up one?
real signs have clear letters — melty, unreadable letters are a clue a computer made it
