Kavi Takes the Bebras Challenge

Kavi opened a page of Bebras puzzles — little thinking games that need no code at all, only a clear head. The first puzzle showed a robot on a grid: face up · turn right · turn right. "Where does it end up looking?" Kavi did not guess. Kavi read it carefully, then followed the rules one step at a time — up, turn right to face right, turn right again to face down. "Down!" The next puzzle was about logic: Mei is taller than Ben, and Ben is taller than Leo — so who is tallest? Kavi lined them up in order. "Solving a puzzle is just read, follow the rule, and check," Kavi hooted. "No guessing needed!"

2Follow the robot one turn at a timeHere is a route puzzle. The robot starts facing up. Press ▶ Run and do each turn in order — keep track of which way it faces.
3Guess the answer, or work it out?A puzzle can look tricky, so it is tempting to guess. But a guess is often wrong. When you follow the rule step by step, your answer is the one that really fits the puzzle.
