Kavi Picks the Right Chart

Kavi had three questions about the class. "Which snack did most children pick?" — for that, Kavi drew a bar chart, because bars make it easy to see which is biggest. "How did the temperature change all week?" — for that, a line chart, because a line shows going up and down over time. "What part of the pizza was cheese?" — for that, a pie chart, because a pie shows parts of one whole. "The same data could go in any chart," Kavi hooted, "but the right chart makes the answer jump out. First I look at the question — then I pick the chart that fits it!"

2Which chart fits 'how did it change'?Kavi has the temperature for each day of the week and asks: how did it change? The same numbers can go in a bar chart or a line chart — but one fits the question better. Tap each to compare.
3Which chart fits this question?Always read the question first, then pick the chart that fits. Predict the best chart, then reveal.
