Kavi Looks Back on Term 3

"What a term — look how much you can do now!" Kavi cheered, flapping proudly. "You can make clear slides for a presentation — a title, then just one big idea on each slide. You can type faster with both hands resting on the home row. You know that accessibility helpers like captions let everyone join in — like Grandpa reading the words of a show. And when someone is treated badly online, you can be an upstander — not join in, send a kind message, and tell a trusted adult. Let's look back at all four big ideas, then show what you remember!"

🎓

What your child will learn

1A crammed slide, or a clear slide? In a presentation, each slide shows on the big screen one after another. The best slides have a title and just one idea with a few big words and a picture — not lots of tiny words crammed in. Tap each card to remember the difference.
2Remember: both hands on the home rowFast typing starts from the home row — the middle row of letter keys. Both hands rest here so every finger is close to its own keys, and your eyes stay on the screen. Tap each part to remember it.
3The room must stay quiet — how can Grandpa follow the show?Accessibility helpers are features that let more people use tech — like captions, the words of a show shown on screen. Predict what turning on captions does, then reveal.
4Is this being an upstander? When someone is treated badly online, an upstander helps kindly — they do not join in, they send kindness, and they tell a trusted adult. A bystander just watches and does nothing. Tap the right box for each choice.

A peek inside

Kavi is making slides about owls. Should Kavi put lots of tiny words on one slide, or just one big idea with a picture?
the class must be able to read the slide from the back — keep it short and clear

Try this at home: A good slide has a title and how many big ideas?
