Kavi Sees Behind the Screen

Kavi was racing a player called SpeedyFox77 online. "Funny name!" hooted Kavi. Then Kavi wondered, "Who picked that name?" Somewhere far away, a real kid was holding a tablet and grinning — a kid with a face, a family, and real feelings, just like Kavi. The silly username was only a costume. "Every player, every message, every avatar," Kavi realised, "has a real person on the other side." And when there's a real person there, there's an easy, kind thing to do: be kind.

What your child will learn

1Behind every screen is a real personA username, an avatar, a game player — they all look like pictures and words. But a real person is always on the other side. Tap each one to hear who is really there.
2What you see, and who is really thereOn the screen you see a name or a picture. Underneath is a real person. Tap each card to hear the difference.
3Remembers, or forgets?A real person reads what you do online. Kind actions remember that; mean actions forget it. Tap the right box for each one.
4Who is on the other side? You only see a funny username and a cartoon avatar — no face at all. Predict who is really there, then reveal.
