Kavi's Tablet Won't Wake Up

Kavi tapped the dark tablet. Nothing! "Is it broken?" Then Kavi found the power button and pressed — bloop! — the screen woke up. But it asked: "Who are you?" "That's the lock screen," Kavi smiled. "My password is my secret word that says it's me — so only I can get in."

What your child will learn

1How a device wakes upA device is asleep until you wake it. Tap each part to hear what it does. First you turn it on with the power button, then the lock screen asks who you are, and your password lets you in.
2A strong password is long AND secretA strong password is long and secret — hard for anyone else to guess. A weak one is short, or something people could guess. Tap the right box for each.
3Wrong password? Try againA device is literal — it only opens for the right secret. Predict what happens if the password is wrong, then reveal.
