Plan a Digital Text
Writing — plan slides, a poster or a storyboard so words, layout and pictures work together

I can plan a short digital text such as slides, a poster or a storyboard, using words, layout and images together.

📖
One Screen, One Idea
"Before I build a single slide," said Kavi, "I storyboard it — I sketch each screen on paper first. I draw a box where the heading goes, a box for the image, and a line for the caption. That way the words and the picture work together, and every screen carries just one clear idea. Planning first means I never build a muddle."

What your child will learn
1Plan the screen before you build itA digital text — slides, a poster or a storyboard — uses WORDS, LAYOUT and IMAGES together. Before you build, PLAN it: decide one idea for each screen, then sketch where the heading, the image and the caption will sit.
2The parts you place on a screenTap each part to see what it does. A good plan gives every part its own place.
3Heading, image or caption?
4A crowded slide vs a planned slideBoth slides share the same facts about bees. Tap each one to see why planning makes it clearer.

A peek inside
On a slide you see the big words 'All About Bees' at the very top. Is that the heading, the image, or the caption?
it is the big title at the top that names the screen's idea → that is the heading
Try this at home: What is the big title at the top of a screen called?
