Kavi Finds It Fast

Kavi the owl has a big animal book and wants the page about owls — fast! "I won't read every page," he says. "At the front is the contents — it lists the chapters in order. At the back is the index — it lists every topic in a–z order with its page number. And when two words start the same, I look at the second letter to put them in order. Owls, here I come!"
