Kavi's One Big Idea
"A good paragraph is like a little team," said Kavi. "One sentence is the captain — the topic sentence — and it tells the one main idea. All the other sentences are the team mates: each one adds a detail that helps the captain. If every sentence pulls together, the whole paragraph makes sense!"
