Kavi and the Magic e

"Watch this!" hoots Kavi the owl. "I have cap. Now I drop a silent e on the end — and like magic, the a stops being short and says its own name: cape! The magic e works on every vowel — a-e cake, e-e these, i-e bike, o-e bone, u-e cube. The e stays silent, but it changes the whole word!"
