Kavi Checks the Bee Fact

Kavi the owl was making a poster about bees. She asked an AI to write one fact, and it wrote: "A bee has 6 legs and 4 wings." "It sounds sure," said Kavi, "but I'm the director — I check first!" She counted in her bug book: 6 legs, 4 wings. True! It matched her plan, and she understood it. So she used it. "Read it, make sure it fits, check it's true, understand it — then use it," hooted Kavi. "Always check the AI's part!"

A peek inside

You're making a bee poster and asked an AI to write one fact. It wrote: "A bee has 6 legs and 4 wings." How do you check before you use it?
First I READ it. Then I check it matches my plan — yes, it's a bee fact. Then I check it's TRUE: in my bug book a bee has 6 legs and 4 wings. That matches, so it's right. I understand it too. All three checks pass, so I can use it.

Questions parents ask

+Why do I need to check the AI's part before I use it?

Because an AI can sound very sure and still be wrong, and it might make something that is not quite what you asked for. You are the director and you own the result, so before you use the AI's part you read it, check it matches your plan, check the facts are true, and make sure you understand it.

+How do I check if a fact the AI wrote is true?

Compare it with something you trust — what you already know, a trusted book, or a grown-up. If the AI's fact and a trusted source agree, it is probably right. If they do not match, the AI's part needs a fix.

+What if the AI's part is about the wrong thing?

Then it does not match your plan, so do not use it. Ask the AI again with a clearer request, or fix the part yourself so it does what you meant.

+Can I use an AI part I do not understand?

Not yet. If you cannot explain it, you cannot own it or be sure it is right. Understand it first — or ask for a simpler part — and then you can use it.

+What age is this 'Check the AI's Part' lesson for?

It is a Stage 4 lesson for roughly ages 9–10 in KAVI Academy's AI-literacy and creating-with-AI track. It uses a story, sorting and ordering games, and check-the-source puzzles.
