Kavi's Little Logbook

Kavi the owl uses an AI to help with a science poster. Before she forgets, she jots a quick line in her little logbook: which tool she used, what she asked, and what she did with the answer. The next day her teacher asks, "How did the AI help?" Kavi just reads her note. "A record is easy," she hoots, "and now I can always say exactly how I used it!"

Questions parents ask

+What is a record of AI use?

It is a simple note you keep each time you use an AI. A good record says which AI tool you used, what you asked it, and what you did with the answer. You can also add the date and tick that you checked the answer yourself. It does not have to be long — a line or two is enough.

+Why should a child keep a record of their AI use?

Because a written record is clearer than trying to remember. If your teacher or a grown-up asks how you used an AI, you can just read your record and answer honestly. It also helps you see which tools really helped and keeps you honest about the AI's part of the work.

+What should go in the record and what can be left out?

Write down which AI tool you used, what you asked, and what you did with the answer — and tick if you checked it yourself. You can leave out things that have nothing to do with your AI use, like what you had for lunch or a game you played after.
