Test and Fix
Build it, test it, find what's wrong, and fix it — that's how real makers work!

Kavi's Wobbly Tower
Kavi the owl built a tall block tower, but when she tapped it — wobble, crash! "Hmm," said Kavi, "that's not what I meant." She didn't give up. She looked closely, found one crooked block near the bottom, and straightened it. Then she tested it again — tap! — and it stood tall. "Test, find the problem, fix it, test again," hooted Kavi. "That's how makers make things work!"
What your child will learn
A peek inside
Try this at home: What does it mean to test your build?
Questions parents ask
+What does it mean to test your build?
Testing means you try your build out and check that it really does what you meant it to do. You run it, watch what happens, and compare that to your plan. If they match, the test passes. If not, something needs a fix.
+What do you do when your build has a bug?
You find the part that is wrong — the bug — and fix it. First run the build and see what went wrong, then look for the step that caused it, change that step, and test again to make sure the fix worked.
+Why test again after fixing a bug?
Because your fix might not have worked, or it might have broken something else. Good builders always re-test the whole build after a fix, so they know it truly does what they meant.
+Is finding a bug a bad thing?
No — finding a bug is a good thing! A bug you have found is a bug you can fix. Testing is how makers find problems early and make their builds better and better.
+What age is this 'Test and Fix' lesson for?
It is a Stage 4 lesson for roughly ages 9–10 in KAVI Academy's AI-literacy and creating-with-AI track. It uses a story, sorting and ordering games, and find-the-bug puzzles.
