Kavi Asks First

Kavi the owl opens her tablet to use an AI helper for her project. Then she stops. "Wait — is AI allowed for this?" She remembers: last week AI was fine for the art poster, but not for the spelling test. "The rule keeps changing!" So Kavi raises her wing: "Teacher, is AI allowed for this task?" The teacher smiles. "Yes — for ideas." Now Kavi knows the rule, and she's sure she's doing the right thing. "Always ask what's allowed first!"

A peek inside

On my science poster I'm not sure if AI pictures are allowed. What do I do?
I don't know the rule for this task. The honest move is to find it out before I use AI.

Questions parents ask

+Why should a child ask what AI use is allowed?

Because the rule changes from task to task. AI might be fine for brainstorming a poster but not allowed on a test you must do alone. If a child doesn't know the rule, the honest and safe move is to ask the teacher 'Is AI allowed for this?' before starting — not to guess.

+What should a child ask the teacher about AI?

A simple question works: 'Is AI allowed for this task, and how?' The answer tells them whether AI is fine for ideas, for checking work, or not at all. Asking first means they follow the real rule instead of guessing and breaking it by accident.

+What age is this 'Ask What's Allowed' lesson for?

It is a Stage 3 lesson for roughly ages 8–9 — part of KAVI Academy's AI-literacy track. It uses a story, sorting and decision games with light reading.

+Why teach asking about AI rules as AI literacy?

AI tools are everywhere, and the rule for using them is different for every task, class and teacher. Children who learn to ask first stay honest, follow the real rule, and avoid cheating by mistake.

+Is the lesson free?
