Kavi Shares Her Story

Kavi the owl writes a story and taps an AI helper to fix her spelling. At sharing time, a friend hoots, "Wow, did you do ALL of it?" Kavi almost nods… then stops. "I wrote the story," she says, "and AI helped me spell the tricky words." Her friend smiles. "That's honest — and the story is still yours!" Kavi grins. "When I share my work, I always say how AI helped."

AI helped me spell tricky words, but I wrote the story myself. When I share it, what should I say?
Be honest about both parts: I wrote the story, and AI helped me with the spelling.

Questions parents ask

+What does it mean to 'say how AI helped'?

It means being honest when you share your work: you tell people which parts you did yourself and which parts an AI helper helped with. One simple honest line does it — for example, 'I wrote the story, and AI helped me spell some words.' It is the opposite of letting people think you did all of it alone.

+Why should kids say when AI helped?

Because it is honest. If AI helped draw a picture or fix spelling and a child says they did it all alone, that is not true. Saying how AI helped keeps the child honest, gives credit where it is due, and still lets them be proud of the parts they really did.

+What age is this 'Say How AI Helped' lesson for?

It is a Stage 3 lesson for roughly ages 8–9 — part of KAVI Academy's AI-literacy track. It uses a story, sorting and decision games with light reading.

+How can a child say how AI helped in a simple way?

Use one honest sentence: 'I did ___, and AI helped with ___.' For example, 'I drew the picture, and AI gave me colour ideas,' or 'AI gave me the idea, and I built the model myself.' Saying both parts tells the whole truth.
