Pam & Nat's kampung · Stage 1
Pam makes a sad, mat-less cat a cosy spot.
Reading skill: Short a (CVC -at/-an/-ap).
Listen along: a recorded storyteller voice reads each sentence and the sentence being read is highlighted. It starts by itself when a page opens and stops at the end of the page; the child turns the page. Pause stops it and keeps it off on the next pages until Listen is pressed again. Escape also pauses it. Tapping a sentence (or pressing Enter on it) reads from that sentence; Again restarts from the sentence just heard; there is a slower speed. If a browser refuses sound until a tap, the Listen button starts it. Pages without a recording are text-only.
Character value in the story: Kindness. It is shown through what the characters do, never named to the child.
